I honestly thought it wasn't that expensive.. Some are several 100 euros. Then again mine is a fixed one.Fucking Vogel TV-Mounts. Expensive as fuck, as any other damn TV-Mount. Why the actual fuck, actually. It's more or less just 3 Pieces of damn metal and some screws, god damnit... I never understood.
New Raspberry Pi looks interesting, if only I had a use for it..
Sounds great, especially the osmc.tv one. I take it you have a Raspberry Pi yourself?https://osmc.tv/ - Hook up some HDD's (or use a NAS), and you can watch your illegally downloaded shit on your TV. Supports CEC, so you can control it using your TV remote. Also supports Samba and FTP, so you can get your stuff on the HDD's from your regular download machine without moving the HDDs. Great for watching shit that isn't on streaming sites.
https://retropie.org.uk/ - Massive emulator. Supports a shitload of oldschool consoles, going from arcade games to SNES to GameBoy DS to Apple II. You can use almost anything to control it, too. Ever wanted to play Pokemon Red/Blue on your TV? Now you can.
https://pi-hole.net/ - It's adblocker, but on a network level. Install it somewhere in your network, and every device has ads blocked. I haven't used this personally, but I've heard some friends be very enthousiastic about it.
Or, you can always just install Ubuntu on it, slap Deluge on it, and use it as a download hub.
Or, install a lightweight Linux install, and use it as a tiny server to host a webserver and DB (it's not easy tho).
It's a tiny computer. You can do anything with it.
Noice.Two.
One of them is running the OSMC, and it works great. I also use it as storage for my music and books, as you can just hook up any HDD and then use the FTP server to upload whatever you want to it.
The other one I first tried to install as a server, but it failed because it didn't have enough RAM to run the DB (it was a RasPi 1, though). I then reinstalled it to a Retropie, and I played Pokemon Red on it.
Oh I’m ready. Got Planet Earth 1 in 1080p, Planet Earth 2 and Blue Planet 2 in 4k. Also got that Netflix nature doc in 4k.Next step, watching Blue Planet II in 4k. Trust me.
Well all internet sucks in Belgium. Max possible is 200mbps down, and 50 up. Meanwhile countries like Croatia, Hungary, Romania,... have 1gbps down and up.Going out with a bang, I suppose? I do hope you have a decent connection in the apartment
Very noice. Can you post a speedtest tomorrow? Curious about how much you get directly.Gotta say, I can't complain about my hookup, though. I got the biggest package (hehe) Telenet offers. Wired my PC directly into the modem, and I get great speeds.
Oh boy that is nice. Hoping to get the same speed once Telenet connects us. Right now I'm on my phone's hotspot -___-
