I would think so, breathing in dust, radiated dust, ash, etc. May not do immediate damage but over time. Possibly even immediately. You would need to be decontaminated. If you exceed X radiation measuring unit (I forget its name), you are not allowed to get on any flight or go anywhere, they put you in a quarantined room until you reach a safe level.

I didn't know anything about the disaster of Chernobyl, I looked up for it, and I found that Chernobyl had a rich religious history due to Jews. The disaster happened on 26th April, 1986. Adolf Hitler's birth date was April 20th. 26 - 20 = 6, The unlucky number.
