Jerome Simpson (Bengals) Amazing Touchdown

It was an effective way to get past the blocker. Dude had no idea how to handle the situation, and it ended up in Jerome scoring.

The commitment part of it was the fact that he could have gotten seriously injured from doing such a thing, but he's determined enough to help his team out to give it a shot.

EU Football: Guy 1 brushes against guy 2, guy 2 falls on the ground crying and gets taken off the field in a stretcher, and guy 1 gets kicked out of the game.

lolno, that is not how it happens.
Lets say you are running as fast as you can, when suddenly a guy comes flying in over the ground with streched legs, hitting your enkles/legs. Shit like that breaks your legs most of the times. From my knowlage it is pretty hard and near to impossible to keep on playing with a broken leg.

Also, it rarely happens that someone has to leave the game because he got injured by someone else. Usually it is the player themselves misplacing their food, ending into them just sitting down and asking to be taken of the field.

Now for that they are just crying because they are pussies is also nonsense. You are basically comparing demolition derby to a race on a race track. Whereby the demoltion derby cars are made the withstand impacts all the time, the racing cars are simply not build like that.

One other thing, with american football a tackle is usually on the upper part/lower part of the body, from what I know a tackle on the legs is not allowed. Also, with EU football there is barely any protection, while with american football you have loads of protection.

This is what I'm talking about.

Note that the guy didn't even kick him. He didn't touch him, but guy 2 overreacts. This kind of shit is lame.

Football is srs business yo. One dude misplaces his food and he just refuses to play.

Yeah, because the reaction of a few guys define the entire sport right?

One thing I noticed you tend to do when discussing this is that you tend to look at EU football while thinking about american football. These two sports are completely different. I am not entirely sure if this is correct, but from what I know a typical american footbal game contains ~15 minutes of actually gameplay (as in them running around on the field). In this time a lot might happen, but the time is a lot shorter for their muscles to actually get tired. With EU football on the other hand it is required to run 45minutes, take a 15 minute break and run another 45 minutes again. After some time a tiny hit will already hurt, since your muscles are basically very tense. Ever had that feeling in your legs where you leg hurts pretty bad, something along the lines of cramps, where you foot turns the other way because your muscles are contracting? Well, that is something which can easily happen with a hit to the foot after someone tackles you.

I'm also pretty sure that almost none of you have actually watched a lot of games. I've watched plenty of EU football games. And I can safely say that stuff that in that gif rarely happens. Though his reaction might be overboard, the keeper's intentions were wrong.

An american football game is about 4 hours long, 1 hour of that is spent with the clock running (Game being played, ball being moved, people running, etc).

Yeah that stuff rarely happens, but it does happen. I know it's a "strategy" to get the opposing players ejected from the game, but in my opinion it's just poor sportsmanship. If you have to resort to that stuff to win a game, you really don't deserve to win.

@ Tiny hits: Yeah. Tiny hits. Here's american football hits. (This shit happens many many times, every single game)

Note that most of the guys get up and walk off the field, and are back in the game a few minutes later.

What, is there no tackling in american football? What game have I been watching? :s

Of course they are two different games, I just hate how soccer players act so tough but cry for days if they get hit. This is just my experience out of the games I've watched.. it was actually a lot like in that .gif, and happened very frequently..

One big thing with the hard hits (ytubevid) is that it is on the upper body. With EU football the hits tend to be the head (elbow) or the ankles/feet. I am not doctor, but you can still run and play after a hit in the upper body, while it is pretty hard to walk when someone just hit your ankle.

You also say that they "cry", but you have to take into account that the amount of protection they have is nothing compared to the amount of protection people with american footall have.

How do you explain this then?

These guys wear as much protection, but keep playing after getting hit time after time...
There is no discussion that soccer is dangerous, but sometimes players act like little sissy girls. I have seen players falling down because someone bumped into them. They kept wailing on the ground, but after 30 seconds, they're up and sprinting down the field. (keep in mind, I don't say every player is like this, but some are)

Stybar, that is rugby. Not american Football. The people who play rugby are pretty though. Heck, during a world cup the sometimes get 2 weeks to recover from their injuries.

I know, but you say that soccer players have less protection, and therefore are "allowed" so to speak, to cry about injuries. The message behind the pic was that people can take a pretty serious beating and still get up and play, unlike some soccer players do. I know that injuries in soccer can be awful (I've seen players with legs snapped in two), but my point was that they sometimes exaggerate some minor pains. Keep in mind that I in no way try to bag on soccer players, I said SOMETIMES. ;)
