Man, now I'm gonna have to write a program that detects whenever I get into combat, and then blasts some Amon Amarth as BGM.

From the trailer, it looks dope, though. The dual wielding system looks like it will be awesome, but I guess we'll have to wait for actual gameplay to come out. Still, I'm looking forward to this, which also mean I will have to start playing the other AC games I haven't played yet.

I liked Odyssey for the first 8-ish hours, after that it became extremely repetitive.

TBF, that's true of most AC games. It gives you the new mechanics, and then lets you 100% the world with those mechanics. That's fine for some people (like me), but others (like you) find it repetitive and boring. Comes down to personal preference, I think.

You might be right. Although I didn't get bored of this in Just Cause 2/3.

Okay, this is just my observations, and I haven't played the AC games past ACIV, but... I think that the objectives in the JC are more diverse than they are in AC. It's still repetitive, yes, but the mechanics allow for greater freedom and approaches. In JC, you can use a sniper to take out the guards, or ram a car into the watertower, or hijack a helicopter, or crash a plane,... In AC, you can... stab people or hit them with your sword.
The main missions are also quite different. In AC, there is a "golden path", where you can get the perfect run, without being detected, following the rooftops nicely,... In JC, it's more of a "go forth and destroy" way of playing.

I guess that that difference in game mechanic helps feeling JC less stale. Of course, if you're insane (like me) and try to go for the 100% completion, you'd get bored as well.

Good point, I didn't think about it that way.
That being said I have a small suspicion you will find the newer AssAss's a bit more tedious than the ones you played before.

Maybe. Time will tell, as I'm planning at playing all the AC games before AC Valhalla :)
