Why don't they just drive it?
If the answer is "It's too wide to fit on the road!", look at the picture again.
"It's too dangerous!" What, balancing it on a trailer barely 1/3 of it's width isn't dangerous?

Really, the only reason I can think of is fuel, and I don't think that that little truck is running eco-friendly as well.

Still, wouldn't it be easier to bring the mechanic and replacement parts to the dumptruck instead of vice versa?

There is only one mechanic and he is incredibly lazy and doesn't want to travel.

There is only one mechanic and he is incredibly lazy and doesn't want to travel.
"yeah, I don't have that part right now... I might be able to get in like a couple of months..."

I'm pretty sure the truck is a lot eco friendlier than the CAT truck. A great example is a monster truck. You'd never drive it to somewhere. You'd transport it on the back of a lorry, because the monster truck uses about 1 liter of fuel every 100 meters.
