Anyone here play World Of Tanks? (I know Mave, it's kinda in the middle of the exams, my apologies.)
For the ones who don't (note, I'm not trying to convince you to play it, if you don't like it, don't play. I'm just looking for people who want to play a match sometimes):
It's a game where you take command over a tank (surprise), and with the help of 14 other players try to take out the opposing 15 tanks.
There are 5 different classes of tanks, each with 10 ranks. There are Light, Medium and Heavy tanks, as well as Tank Destroyers (less armor, stronger gun), and SPG's (artillery on tracks). Of course, Light tanks are faster than Heavies, but have less armor and firepower. On top of that, the available tanks originate from 6 countries (China, France, Germany, UK, USA, CCCP) and come from the years 1914 - 1945.
Each nation has 10 ranks. Tanks in specific rank are slightly superior than tanks in the previous rank, which means that with a tank in rank 4, you can easily take out tank in rank 5 or even 6. This allows for players who just started to take on players who are going at it for a while longer, which means easier to get started. Seeing that you even get experience and money on losses, upgrading is a matter of time.
Of course, even with that rule, a starting player can still be brutally slaughtered by an experienced player. Which is why players are grouped and pitted against players of their own level. Rank 4 tanks never play tanks in rank 7 or rank 1. And the opposing team has comparable tanks as well. Which means that if your team has 3 medium rank 3 tanks, the opponents will have 3 medium rank 3 tanks. The only difference is the nation and model of the tank, which doesn't make much difference, except for the looks and speed.
For the ones who do:
My nick is Smallwater, add me if you want (no pressure).
