Since this is going to be in the news a lot more, and we at TMS follow up on SOPA; This thread.

The Stop Online Piracy Act or SOPA is a proposed law to stop copyright infringement on the Internet. The United States Congress is discussing it, but people and businesses have been protesting it, saying that it is censorship.

On January 18th many websites have chosen to 'black out' to protest against SOPA.
More info about these websites here: https://forums.themavesite.com/index.php?topic=15706

Many of these websites also have been spreading an informative video about SOPA, which has already been posted on TMS before, but for your inconvenience;

This thread will be used to discuss, post updates about,... about SOPA.

Oh and just for the record TMS is AGAINST SOPA.
If SOPA was a mouse TMS would lure it with some cheese, stab it with toothpicks, run it over multiple times with a car having spikes, throw it into a cage with 100 cats, spill oil over it, put it on fire and piss on it.

Sounds like what SOPA would do to the innocent people and sites on the internet, while letting the pirates get away.

MPAA responds: Sites participating in blackout day (such as Reddit and Wikipedia) are "irresponsible" and calls the blackouts an "abuse of power".

Irony. Blacking out a website THAT YOU OWN is an "abuse of power" but the government censoring websites at a whim isn't? LOL.
