Playing SA-MP on linux

This is what you do

Step1
[*]Install wine
[*]install GTA:San Andreas + SA:MP

Step2
[*]Download the ASII GTA:SA loader from http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/download.php?f=10136

Step3
[*] The download consist of two DLLs: "VorbisFile.dll" and "vorbishooked.dll"
These must be placed into your GTA:SA install directory and overwrite original "VorbisFile.dll" with ASI Loader one.

Step4
[*]Next rename samp.dll to samp.asi.

After this, you will be able to launch games from samp.exe as if from Windows.

I can't test it atm because I don't have enough free space on my notebook harddrive.

Good to hear it worked for you, Frost.
And ah okay Remis, but we already have one confirmation it DOES work

This is good news! pretty soon we won't need Windows anymore to run exe files. I can't wait for the day where Linux can run anything made for Windows, then I'm leaving the Windows OS forever.
That day will never be here. And that's a fact. There's pretty much stopping anyone from creating a superduperfullyfunctional Windows->nix emulator. Applications depend on Windows libraries and emulators can help loading them in Linux but there's still much to do.

And a reason to leave the Windows OS forever is what? AFAIK there is none. Windows 7 is fully functional, efficient, fast, doesn't crash and is just awesome.
