Matt LeBlanc 'threatens to quit Top Gear if Chris Evans is kept on for series 2'
Despite both Matt and Chris dismissing rumours that they aren’t best buds, talk of a rift has resurfaced.
The Sun claims there is a ‘frosty atmosphere’ between Chris and Matt, and Matt has become ‘frustrated’ with Evans’ behaviour towards the other presenters.
And it’s got the point that the US has apparently said he will walk if Evans is brought back for series two.
BBC bosses could be forced to choose between the two as they are said to have already agreed to pay Matt for a further two runs.
The second series might even be put on the back burner while they make their decision.
A source said: ‘The big question now is who goes and who stays.
‘The team does not gel at all, and the atmosphere between the presenters is decidedly frosty. It’s very much a picture of him – Chris – and them.
‘Matt has already indicated that he won’t continue on any further series if Chris remains a part of it. And he is far from the only one who isn’t happy.’
They continue: ‘Chris is not encouraging when any of the others are doing their links.
‘On one occasion this month he even pretended to bump his head against a wall in frustration when Eddie Jordan kept fluffing his lines.’
