Japan's First VR Porn Festival Canceled Prematurely Because of Overcrowding
While it seems like the porn industry takes over many industries, virtual reality may take the cake. While we are still in the early stages of the VR industry, the adult side of things has already begun to infiltrate the space. In fact, VR porn searches have increased a staggering 10,000% over the last 20 months alone, and the trend does not seem to be letting up any time soon.

In between all the quirky gadgets and new adult experiences, the biggest news of the entire festival may have been the people attending themselves. Japanese authorities were forced to end the festival prematurely due to overcrowding concerns. Too many people wanted to get a peek at the latest technology within the adult entertainment space, and this created a possibly dangerous situation. I decided to translate a passage from one of the Japanese reporters who tried, but failed to get inside the venue:
"The event didn’t start until 2 PM, so I went there in high spirits an hour before then, but the city was already overflowing with people. There were so many that it was almost impossible to keep the situation under control. While waiting for my friends, I couldn’t help but think that if they couldn’t control the mass of people, a riot or something similar could happen. The 20 lucky guys closest to the building were let in by the staff. I’m sure there was a line inside the building that rivaled the one outside."
For those who did get to go inside, excitement ran wild. I'm not entirely sure if the same thing would happen in the US, but VR porn enthusiasts rushed to have a go at some of the latest virtual reality gadgets.
