How to prevent vehicle theft

I don't know how it damages it exactly, but a few instructors and other people said it's bad for the gearbox :P

Coasting = holding clutch in while still moving?
So? Clutch releases the mechanical connection between the engine and the gearbox, where should it damage something?
It could cause stuff to spin too fast.
WAT.

If you rev your engine to high (which is easier when holding clutch) you will fuck up your car. Otherwise, no problem. If you hold the clutch, the connection between the engine and the gearbox and therefore the rest of the driveshaft, will be gone (like panki said). I won't fuck up your car, unless you hit the gas while holding the clutch. It's like putting your car in neutral.
