'Game of Lightsaber' - First After Effects assignment

For my first After Effects I needed to replace a sword in a scene with a lightsaber, here's my take on it:
Scene is taken from Game.of.Thrones.S01E08

What's missing is that the environment should be lighted by the saber, so it should throw a blue glow on the surrounding areas.

Well creating this already took ~10 hours, I mostly had to do this frame by frame. And it wasn't just the lightsaber, but also around 30 masks for when the lightsaber was behind someone.
Creating a light on the environment from the saber would be incredibly hard
