Apparently, California has pretty solid squatter's rights laws. Meaning, if someone decides to squat in your property, it's really fucking hard to get them out by force. I guess the laws stem from a time where shady landlords were more common, and were designed to protect innocent people from getting screwed over, but... Well, some people just massively abuse those rights.
Thus was the case of Mary. Mary is a professional squatter - her preferred tactic is to rent out a room for 30 days on AirBnB, then claim squatter's rights and refuses to leave. And thanks to those aforementioned laws, it's really hard to get her out.
This happened this year to a homeowner somewhere in California. Mary moved in using AirBnB, and proceeded to be an absolute menace. Squatting is one thing, but she was abusive, racist, homophobic, and in general an absolute nightmare to the other people who lived in that house (other rooms were rented out through AirBnB or as actual apartments). In once case, she even nearly broke the foot of another tenant, after he tried to enter his rightful domicile, but Mary didn't want to. She slammed the door into his foot several times, enough to send him to the hospital.
And that's where the fun begins. Because, the owner of said house had a brother. A brother who is rather infamous - a brother who is known as Asian Andy.
Asian Andy is mostly known from the old IcePoseidon days - he was a weird troll, who got (in)famous for his "do whatever you want to me" type of streams. He pioneered the "sleep stream" format, where he has horrible TTS and alerts set up to basically torture himself. Loud music, jumpscares, noisy alerts,... the works. This guy's daily life is a loud and obnoxious hell. So you can say, he's used to some shit.
Andy was given permission to set up in one of the available rooms in the house, next to Mary's. And he then proceeds to completely annoy the ever-loving fuck out of her. TTS messages were on pretty much permanently, he set up shop in the building's common kitchen (in his underwear, obviously) where he smoked a fuckton of weed, played loud music, continuously threw a ball against Mary's wall, closed the front door every time Mary opened it (she wanted it open permanently, for some reason).
And his chat, who are arguably even more degenerate as Andy himself, quickly learned the perfect timings for their horrible TTS messages. Mary comes out to complain about the weed smell? Chat sends a TTS message repeatedly shouting "SHUT UP SHUT UP". And it did, indeed, shut her up.
Everything Mary said Andy wasn't allowed to do, Andy did. Immediately. "You can't smoke drugs" - Andy lights up another blunt. "Stop playing that loud music" - Ram Ranch at max volume. "Don't go into the back area!" - Andy specifically diverts his path to go into the back area.
Eventually, Mary decides she has had enough of the weed smell, so she starts to "mask" it by pouring bleach all over the floor outside of her room. Several bottles are emptied. Eventually she runs out, and start to pour olive oil instead. Being the helpful lad he is, Andy of course cleans it up - but he's a bit clumsy, so he keeps banging the broom into her door.
Because the fact is, Andy's a professional troll. Someone Mary could not just simply bully into submission. And while his shenanigans are normally frowned upon, in this case? Well, they're aimed at a victim who fucking deserves it. And it is glorious.
Of course, the cops are a common occurence. They visit the property almost daily, because Mary keeps calling them. And every single time, they immediately side with Andy. They keep telling her that Andy isn't doing anything illegal, and that their war of attrition is "a civil matter", where they legally can't intervene. It takes a few days before the cops finally issue a warning to Mary to stop calling the emergency line for non-emergencies.
But eventually, Andy has to admit it's not working as well as he wanted, so he calls in for support. SJC, Scuffed Justin Carrey, comes in, and he immediately makes Andy look like an amateur. The music is louder, the screaming is non-stop, the harassment is unending. As bad as Andy was, Justin was way worse. Way louder, way more combatitive.
In the end, the thing that broke Mary was when Justin follows Mary into town, dressed in only a rolled up pair of shorts and his live-streaming rig (picture GTAV's Trevor, but holding a camera). Initially, he just follows her, but when Mary starts to spit at him, he just starts to continuously shouts at her. Eventually, she loses one of her slippers, and Justin tries to be a good citizen and attempts to return it to her. While still barely nude and screaming loudly, obviously. It ends when he "pins" her in a nearby restaurant, standing outside the door, filming her and shouting at her. She calls the cops, claims she's being held hostage, and the cops arrive (for a fairly legit call, for once).
They handcuff Justin, but Andy (who was nearby), immediately provides the livestream footage that Justin was making. From that footage, it's clear that while Justin was being a menace, Mary was the instigator by spitting at him. So, Justin is released, and Mary is finally arrested.
Currently, the first three parts of this saga are out on Andy's channel. Part 1, Part 2, Part 3. Part 3 ends right before Justin comes in, and part 4 is coming. Justin's videos are here and here. However, be aware that watching these is incredibly painful. And to top it off, Dr. Disrespect has come back from his self-imposed exile to... uh, not really apologize for being a weirdo and a creep. Instead of saying "yeah, that girl I texted wasn't a minor", he goes off on how people assume she was a minor, without ever mentioning if she actually was. It's really weird.

I mean, MrBeast has been moving in the candy market for a while now. Feastables, his burger,... Makes sense that the most popular "kid" snack was going to be his next target.
Anyway, I get the point of people calling it "scummy", but I can't put my finger on exactly why it feels scummy. Like, they aren't any worse than Heinz for selling Lunchables, right? They're both heavily marketed to children.

TL;DW: the $50 subscription is year based, and was always ever meant for the 0.1% of powerusers. He breaks down the logic behind those costs, and it actually makes sense. It's not for everyone, but it was never intended. For 99% of the people, it's a free app. For the 1% that want to, there is an option to pay a few dollars for some really high-res/hyper-specific artwork, which is a one-time payment, not a subscription.
There are more things he talks about, including some legit criticism, that have been tackled or will be changed - including comments about AI artwork, and some design issues.
All in all, a pretty good response, IMO - apologized where needed, amended where needed, and explained where needed.
Redemption completed. He also reduced the price by 85%.

They already reversed it, claiming it was a "bug". Something with "active conflict" stuff, but people quickly noted that Ukrainian or Russian accounts weren't getting blocked.
I don't think they'd be dumb enough to be actively antisemitic, that'd be just too much of a horrible business idea for a company as large as Twitch (and by extension, Amazon). But, this whole thing, combined with the whole "holocaust deniers get unbanned" situation, and a shitload of other things that were weird,...
It looks like their PR department is gonna have to run overtime. Again.
