There seem to be only two opinions about this matter:
  • Rockstar is cheap and should pay more
  • The guy is an idiot for rejecting, the exposure is on another level
 
Yeah, I read many comments (often from people claiming to work in the royalty/copyright scene) that the $7500 was a pretty fair deal. Not the best, but decent enough.

In my layman opinion: a bad decision by the dude to put this out there as outrage bait.

Apparently it was triple that amount, since the song was written by three people. So the guy even lied about it.
