A Somerset woman grabbed her bag from a kitchen cupboard to go shopping - and found a 3ft python inside.
Lesley Coles, 63, screamed and threw the bag outside before calling her daughter for help, reports The Sun.
Mrs Coles, of Chard, said: "I'm terrified of snakes and I was shaking for ages afterwards.
"I've got a dog and two cats and I know pythons can kill them by wrapping their body around them."
Daughter Sara Cross, 31, who lives nearby, said: "The RSPCA came and took the snake away. It was only a baby but they can grow up to 15ft."
