Recently, my netbook has been under the constant attacks of virus's, and I'm getting seriously pissed off now.
I've got Avast and MalwareBytes but neither of them are detecting anything.
Some symptoms:
1. Google redirect
- When I click on a link in google search it redirects me to a different page
2. Black screen
- Sometimes, when I start up my computer and log in, the screen is black, just black (but you can see the mouse pointer). I tried starting up explorer.exe but when I attempt to do so, a popup comes up and tells me that I cannot run it because explorer.exe has been infected with a virus (the popup doesn't look like a genuine windows popup though)
3. CANNOT use disk check or system restore. Both result in errors and cannot be completed.

I'm generally careful about the sites I visit and the things I download. I don't know how my netbook got infected at all.
My desktop, on the other hand has been virus free for a while now (afaik).

Please help! And thanks in advance.

I'd make sure the netbook isn't on the internet with the virus, might be sending out/downloading data.
If you could maybe post a screen of the pop up(s) it could be very usefull, or the exact text which is in those pop ups. Googleing symptons also helps lots of times.

Have you found any ads on your Netbook?
It may be spyware, so you better do what Impulse said because the Virus maybe download Shell code.

I've tried googling the symptoms already and got a lot of "solutions," but none of them have worked. Also, I don't have any important personal info on the netbook, so I don't particularly care if it's sending out info. As for the error message, I will get a screen asap.

When there's a zero day virus like this out there then your chances of achieving a completely clean computer are quite close to zero as long as the virus isn't fully detected (currently it could be completely undetected or partially, doesn't matter). I remember my dad's laptop having something like a fake Microsoft antivirus program installed and it caused him a lot of headache to get rid of, we eventually formatted the (in modern terms: quite crappy) laptop and gave it to my sister. This works basically as a site with a lot of popups and attempt to gain money, but this time more serious as it doesn't open new browser windows for you, but actually downloads new and new viruses (such as password collectors or simple botnet herder malware) then it must be , or if it doesn't download new viruses then it probably is tying itself deeper in your system. Such deep structural infestation works on Windows XP and below, I doubt it has many chances on Vista or 7, but then again if it is zeroday it might be possible. Anyways another dilemma here - if it was zero day the owners would probably be attempting to launder millions not waste time with simply stealing credentials (though that's where it starts).

So your virus - it just has an intention of fucking up your PC. There have been more of those around.

Start up in safe mode, run 'rkill.exe' (kills known mallware processes.
Next do a complete scan with malwarebytes.
Delete the virusses, restart.

Hell, might as well just get a new PC and really start over. Upgrades are always nice, especially after being on a PC with a virus :|

My old one got a virus before I got this PC xD
