The Unread Posts 'Bug'

It has come to my attention that some members of the forum experience some kind of bug with the Unread Topics/Posts feature.

Now my question is;

Has anyone else noticed that THIS does NOT include all unread topics/posts (unread for you that is)


I'm putting my hopes on the fact that maybe Gpow and Panki were not using

https://forums.themavesite.com/index.php?action=unread;all;start=0
but
https://forums.themavesite.com/index.php?action=unread

Notice the unread;all;start=0 part.

This has always worked for me by the way, I have seen every post in every topic on the forum.



I need to verify that this is (not) working for everybody.

Then I might have to do a forum re-install or something.
 
This works. Now can you somehow change SMF to make the unread posts button actually link to the all one?
 
This is not a bug, errrrm?

The unread link shows all your unread posts only if you have specified ;all in the link. The ;start one is used to count pages or items in the list.

Simply do this ->
1. go to https://forums.themavesite.com/index.php?action=unread
2. scroll down
3. click "All Unread Topics"
4. PROFIT???

And there's no need to reinstall the forums or anything. Though I'd recommend you to probably to mark all posts read once in a while for very inactive members or such. Perhaps isn't necessary since we don't have a shitload of members (suggested step for forums with like hundreds of thousands of registered people). Script can be found on SMF forums.
 
Actually I think I made a discovery.

The link says "Show unread posts since last visit" not "Show all unread posts". This is why you're overhyping the bug thing.
 
Yeah I know, I just thought GP and the other guys knew that too :P

But I placed a direct link to ALL unread topics in the footer now anyway.
 
Footer link also didnt work for me, logged on to TMS, clicked the link, showed me nothing. A click on New Replies showed me some, but not all.

You probably clicked on 'Mark All Topic As Read' before you checked the link or something.
