The page length is not much to worry about but it is known that actions with child boards take relatively more time to process.

Yay, 0.003 longer to process. Not even noticeable.

When new people come to TMS and they've never been on a forum before, tons of boards and a really long page might be confusing to them and might drive them away.
 
If you don't know how SMF works nor have ever written modifications for it or are unfamiliar with PHP in general then it would be nice if you shut it. Thank you.

And I think that the technical talk board covers a large area of discussion. At the same time there are some boards which are unfortunately not posted in that much (example: Reggae). Tech discussion allows people to discuss everything hardware related, while the reggae board covers not that much music.

So what I think is that we need to make a some boards subboards (child boards) or lose them completely. Tech discussion has a great variety of things to talk about, some others don't. I don't see a point in giving something as big as tech talk a low status on TMS.

Let's just wait for the poll to turn out, we can always UPGRADE the child-board if it gets popular. :smile3:
 
All I was saying is that tech discussion is a very varying and large subject. Unlike some of the boards on the forum which have a full board status currently. What's so hard for you to understand geordie?
 
I agree with Andre, it shouldn't be a sub-board it's a popular subject and should have it's own board.
