A UK stalker who made hundreds of late night phone calls to a former classmate's home and Googled her name 40,000 times has been jailed for four months.
TV producer Elliot Fogel, 34, subjected Claire Waxman to an 'unimaginable' ordeal for more than seven years, including breaking into her car, the Daily Mail reported.
His four month sentence has outraged his victim, who said in her victim impact statement that she developed an eating disorder, had a miscarriage and was forced to move home five times to avoid him.
Police sources told the newspaper that Fogel could be released within six weeks.
"I will get a couple of months respite at best, but I am under no illusion that he will be out of jail soon and the harassment will start again," Mrs Waxman said.
Mrs Waxman said that Fogel's obsession with her began 20 years ago when the two were at high school.
Fogel had managed to obtain her wedding photos as well as gain entry to her daughter's childcare centre by posing as a prospective parent.
A police search of his computer revealed Fogel had an aerial photo of Mrs Waxman's house from Google Earth.
British law prevents a stricter sentence against Fogel because he has not made any threats of violence to Mrs Waxman.
