George “Geohot” Hotz, the 21 year old PS3 hacker who published the console’s “master key” a few weeks ago and subsequently found himself on the receiving end of major lawsuit from Sony, is asking for donations.

I want, by the time this goes to trial, to have Sony facing some of the hardest hitting lawyers in the business.

HAH! I'm sure the guys that couldn't be arsed to buy games in the first place will be giving him money. And after watching him pull the dumb shit with the rap, its no surprise that his legal case is slowly going down the shitter. Not everyone that jailbroke their PS3s with his CFW is a cheap pirate.
Many of them use it only for homebrew and shit. That are the people that could support his work.
