VG247 is reporting that Microsoft is finally sharing details about the new Xbox with at least a few of its publishing partners and that we can expect the system to hit stores in time for the holidays next year. They also claim that the new system will require an always-on Internet connection to combat piracy and that it has two GPUs and a four or six core CPU.
Sadly, there still seems to be confusion as to whether the system will support used games. In any case, we shouldn’t expect a public announcement about the console until next year.
In related news, VG247 has also learned that Sony is well aware of Microsoft’s plans at this point and intends to beat them to market with the PS4. In fact, Sony is rumored to be planning reveal events for developers in May and June of this year. Still no word on a public reveal.
