Notch was asked how much money he made so far;

A lot. It all ends up in an account somewhere, and I try not to look at it. I get a normal salary these days for day to day stuff, but there's a big pile somewhere.

The game sold about 800,000 copies at 9.95 euro and then so far 1 million more at 14.95 euro. Paypal takes a cut, there are taxes, and such, but it's still a huge wad of money.

Thats 22,910,000 Euros or about 32,000,000 Dollars.

He's made as much as some professional game studios have on a single game, and he's still only an indie dev o.O

I would have taken the 32mil, and sold off the game to a major Dev for base price to rights, and software use, on top of royalties etc. Dude would have been wrapped in paper for life.
