Well I might be getting a new PC if I can get any money, its pretty expensive for me because I don't have a job. But my buddy put together some parts and it seems like it would be a decent deal for the price (Which isnt TOO bad)

What about that pc that you showed me before? Either way that looks fine for me, but i'm sure there is people that know more about pc stuff than me.
 
The guy that built this for me informed me that the barebone kit sucked shit, so then he went and got all this stuff together to prove that he can build a computer thats better for around the same price :P
 
You don't have a CPU or GPU listed?! Those two will add another $300 to your pricing, even more if you get good ones. And you know where to post this, ffs.

Motherboard: kinda sucks
GFX: Sucks
PSU: WTF 500W Is enough, don't buy 600!
CPU: Ehh go for true 2 cores kkplz
RAM: 800Mhz No, buy 1066MHz ones, they don't cost much more

Go and buy Gigabyte's mobo (I bought MA770-UD3, it's pretty awesome, buy a Modecom Carbon series PSU, cheap'n'good. I got the 530W and it works gr8.
Graphics... Hm It got DDR2, that sucks, buy HD4850 or 4770, much bettar and a lil bit more expensive. Or if Nvidia, buy 9800GT or GTS250. I got Zotac GTS250 with 512 MB GDDR3. GTA4 works on medium details. Far Cry 2 on High. CoD4 Maxed out.

It's nice for that price, but I doubt you need a 600watt power supply. Unless you are planning to overclock or upgrade your system, same goes for the fan

EDIT: And if you are a huge dl fan etc (like me), I'd get a 1tb HDD. :P
 
Guys you have to fucking remember, I DONT HAVE MONEY!

I need to keep this CHEAP, And I know its not the greatest stuff, but jesus christ its better than what I have currently.

-I don't need a new 1TB hdd, I already have an 80GB internal and 1TB external.

-I'm not downgrading the power supply because when I want to upgrade again (if I had a 500w) I would have to get aNOTHER new PSU, adding nearly double the cost of buying one once.

Also I probably won't change the motherboard unless I or someone else finds a great deal on Tigerdirect.ca on a different one, I really like that this one is a bundle because with my luck, If I buy shit separately it wont fucking work together.
 
Why do you think that it wont work when you buy the parts separately, lol? That would become cheaper as well
 
With my luck they wont be compatible. I don't know SHIT about the insides of computers, and I just want an upgrade from this peice of shit, even if its a very small upgrade. I can't afford a core i7 and shit, or else I would.
 
No need for a Core i7. That's just over expensive. However an AMD Phenom II X4 965 or something like that isn't overpriced and is almost as good as Intel Core i7.

And upgrading from a 2000-computer to 2004-computer won't pay off, you sure understand that? Better to collect some money, let creative people find you a good specification list for your new machine that won't become outdated very soon. That will be the best thing you can do.
Or if you upgrade to a 2004-computer for a few hundred bucks you will have to collect the money and some extra again real soon to upgrade again. Upgrading to a better machine directly will be the best thing you can do.
