Irrlicht Engine is a free open source engine for your C++ games. It is a engine for 3D games with great graphics. You can find a lot of tutorials using it, so its the best free 3D engine.
I recommend to use it with Dev-C++. You can also use another IDE, it works with all C++ IDEs, you only should know how to add llibrary to your IDE.

Notice: Engine doesnt mean game creator. You need 1 year experience programming in C++ at least.

For all non-programmers, maybe you want to learn to program after seeing what you can do with programming. Programming and scripting makes fun and is a great hobby.
 
3/4 year, but I have one year experience in programming with other languages.

I didnt try "Irrlicht Engine" out, Iam testing darkGDK atm and it suck. So I will use Irrlicht Engine in the next time.

DarkBasic is an own language, but in my opinion it has less performence etc.
DarkGDK suck installing and its too much Microsoft.
The rest of GDK programms I didnt test.
