Waves are introduced and the water looks more realistic. You cannot swim.
GTA: Vice City
The water becomes more transparent. You are still not able to swim.
GTA: San Andreas
You are able to swim and dive underwater. Water is less transparent and looks more realistic.
GTA IV
Water is much more realistic looking, but you cannot dive and it is less transparent.
GTA V
Best-looking water in the series. You are able to dive and swim. Much more dynamic than before. Wildlife interacts with you, such as sharks.
