While the progress is amazing, there is a certain beauty to low res graphics.
It leaves just enough room for your imagination to fill the gaps.
Tbh I think cel shading is the best graphics style, because it's timeless. Just look at TLoZ: Wind Waker.

I understand what you're saying, but it certainly isn't true for every old game
