A mother who crashed her car and killed her daughter while helping the girl send a text message has faced court.
The Daily Mail reports the pair were returning home from a beach in the UK when Chloe Bunney, 10, used her mother's phone to text her grandparents.
Jolene Bunney, 30, told the inquest that just prior to the crash she "leaned over and looked at what (her daughter) was doing".
"The next thing I felt was the side impact and the airbags went off and the car just spun — I couldn't control it," she said.
An inquest heard the accident happened when the girl smashed with 'colossal force' into the inflated air bag in the VW Golf, causing massive head injuries.
A witness heard Ms Bunney say: "It's my fault, it's my fault – I looked at my phone."
She said that Chloe's death had left the entire family "devastated" and called for more awareness of the dangers of airbags.
The coroner ruled that the death was accidental.
