True overall but a degree from an accredited Community College (which most of them are) is muuuuuuch better than none at all (obviously) and usually better than an online university (which are usually shit and end up costing someone more than community college and in the end they can't get a job bc the degree they get is literally worthless since it isn't accredited.
There was a great TED talk or documentary on it.
Also there are quite a few more than decent Community College's (especially in suburban neighborhoods) whose degree's are almost certain to get the graduate a job in the neighborhood or into graduate school.
Obviously these degree's aren't worth as much as a degree from a big name university, but the name of the university isn't the only thing an employer considers by far and a community college degree combined with internships, previous work history and previous boss reccomendations will get you a good shot at the job you want.
