About 30, but I always have loads open.

Could be the 30 tabs, depending on what you actually opened. Just check if you have the same problem with 4 or 5 tabs open.
Even now, when I have 5 tabs opeb FF uses 100mb of memory and 15mb for the plugin container

Or Chrome. Chrome is good too. But may not be in your case as it uses a seperate process for each tab XD

Just wanted to mention memory leaks and that's a pretty common case on Opera as far as I have seen. Chrome has a tab property management thing which shows you how much resources it uses so you can check that out. And Opera uses more memory than Chrome!

Opera uses more memory than Chrome for me as well but somehow it seems to be "managed" better I guess? It feels like the application responds faster (Not just web page loading, the entire program) and seems to just be faster in general for me :s
