The mutt has a very different personality to the Griffins' previous pet however, and is instead a tough-talking wiseguy voiced by former Sopranos star Tony Sirico, who played Paulie on the long-running HBO hit.
Explaining the decision to kill off the cerebral canine after 11 seasons, the show's executive producer Steve Callaghan told E: 'This was an idea that got pitched in the writers room and it sort of caught fire, and we thought it could be a fun way to shake things up.
