Asus officially unveiled their Windows 7 powered Eee Pad tablet today, calling it “the most powerful tablet in the world”.

And they aren’t kidding, either. Featuring a huge 12.1″ multitouch display, a 64GB SSD with 4GB memory, and 10.1 Flash support, it’s going to be an absolute titan in the market when it’s released.

To prove that it’s got the guts to handle anything you want to throw at it, the presenter at today’s press event played a 1080p video while simultaneously running a photo editor.

However windows 7 isn't a tablet OS, but android is just not made for tablets eithar..
Windows 7 is fully touchscreen compatible though. Maybe they have worked with this and maybe they have asked M$ to help the modify the version of windows 7 on tht tablet. Would like to see some videos of the tablet in work though.
And it also seems that Asus is lacking some ideas.

^A keyboard comes handy in every PC or typing related situation imo :P

Awesome news, but the price will be darn high maybe :/

Unfortunately, ASUS didn’t give us an exact release date but according to Engadget the entire lineup of Eee Pads will be priced between $399 to $499. As with the price, we have no official release date either with ASUS saying that the first Eee Pads won’t hit retailers until Q1 2011.

Awesome! ASUS is really trying to compete first with Microsoft (Kinect) and now with Apple. But I am happy that it runs on Windows, and probably will have USB ports, because that's one of the must-have things if you want to take it on-the-go.
