According to a report from MSNBC, a 29 year old “strategist” and “propagandist” for the secretive “hacking” group Anonymous named Barrett Brown is claiming that the group plans to target the United States government and some of the world’s biggest and most successful corporations in response to the handling of the Wikileaks case.

DALLAS — A leader of the computer hackers group known as Anonymous is threatening new attacks on major U.S. corporations and government officials as part of at an escalating “cyberwar” against the citadels of American power.

“It’s a guerrilla cyberwar — that’s what I call it,” said Barrett Brown, 29, who calls himself a senior strategist and “propagandist” for Anonymous. He added: “It’s sort of an unconventional, asymmetrical act of warfare that we’ve involved in. And we didn’t necessarily start it. I mean, this fire has been burning.”

A defiant and cocky 29-year-old college dropout, Brown was cavalier about accusations that the group is violating federal laws. He insisted that Anonymous members are only policing corporate and governmental wrongdoing — as its members define it.

Anon as strong as they might be in some aspects. Anon is in no way strong enough to fight a winning war with the government. Especially the US government. The FBI and CIA, and NSA will have their hands full and pockets lined to put them down, and that is just asking to start problems. Anon needs to learn to pick its fights.

You'd think so but consider:
The internet is a powerful tool. If you think this will be a battle fought only on the internet, you're sorely mistaken.
It will spread in the form of protests and such throughout the USA as well.
I'd say it is unclear who would win atm.
