Cyberpunk 2077 map size predicted to be twice the size of GTA 5
Now this is impressive. YouTuber EdgeRunner Cold has managed to estimate the size of Cyberpunk 2077's map through the magic of some serious detective work. The video above is well worth a watch if you want a full explanation.
The short version is that by taking on-screen coordinates from the game's latest photo mode trailer, EdgeRunner Cold was able to approximate certain locations with a promising degree of accuracy. These locations were then placed over an existing map of Night City (and the surrounding Badlands), and from there, we get a decent idea of how big the open world actually is.
The end result suggests that we have a map that's around twice the size of the open world in Grand Theft Auto V — and around twelve times the size of Velen and Novigrad combined in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. In other words, it's pretty big.
