Series: General Discussion

Another successful Netflix original.

This series expertly details what happens when a nepotistic, self-obsessed black woman with way too much money and ego gets into a position of power.
The result is a shitty documentary, which ignores all historic facts, and just makes shit up.

Get fucked, Jada.

Such a shame really, Netflix puts out so much crap these days.

Yeah, appearantly the script got leaked, and the general consensus was that it was way worse than even Velma was.

Note, that's just what I read from comments - I haven't seen the script myself. But i'm willing to believe it.

Dude got what was coming to him. Shame. Always loved him in That 70s Show, we should never forget that celebrities can be bad people too.

Yeah, it sucks :( Hyde was my favorite character on that show.

I often rewatch some of the episodes, though, and some of the jokes and scenes did not age well. Especially in the first season.

I always try to separate the actor/musician/... from the actual art/entertainment.
There are limits of course (think Lostprophets), but I can still enjoy T7S.

Same. It's just a bummer, additionally since it meant he wasn't in the 90's Show sequel. I figured him being in there as well would've been hilarious, but oh well.

I only heard terrible things about that new show, is it watchable?

If you're a fan of the original, yes. It feels a bit like fan fiction - like someone wrote their own character into the show, and has them interact with the OG characters.

I saw a review describing it as "Disney channel acting", and it fit perfectly. The new "gang" of kids is just... meh. They're not bad, but they lack the chemistry the original cast had. The original cast also appear in the series, although only as cameos. Well, except for Red and Kitty. They get more screentime, because them being there is the primary plotpoint of the series

There are quite a bit of funny scenes across all episodes, don't get me wrong, but... the majority is in scenes with the OG cast. Only a handful with the new kids.

All in all, I'd give it a solid 7/10. It's not bad, if you're a T70S fan and want more. But I won't rewatch it like I do with the original series.

Alright, I'll give it a try with that in mind

You mean to say those aren't lines from a horribly bad and cheesy porn movie?

okay

The first episode of True Detective season 4 is out!
Giving off serious supernatural vibes.

Another well-deserved Succession win!

So, the trailer for the new Deadpool movie dropped, featuring MacFayden in it. And everyone in the comments kept mentioning "Tom is moving up", which is a reference to his character on the show.
It only caused further confusion with me, as my first thought was "is that Tom Scott?"
